One of the key pillars of data governance is establishing a common understanding of the rules and assumptions that have been used to define how the data is treated. When onboarding new clients we often find these rules hidden in a long forgotten cell of a spreadsheet or even worse, the head of a previous employee who is long gone.
Documenting the business rules governing data and using these to configure the platform has been a core part of the Dexibit onboarding process since day 1 but we had nowhere to capture the reasons behind the rules, or the underlying assumptions.
Introducing business rule management
Now in the Administration section of the Venue module, your account administrator can enter free form notes regarding data governance. These will be viewable by all users in the account so everyone can work from a shared viewpoint.
